Original kraft paper bags, in which goods are often put in expensive stores, are so good that it is a pity to part with them. Alas, their age is short. But there is an easy way to turn them into tight reusable bags! The simplest materials, 15-20 minutes of time - and you will be flaunting with a fashionable shopper from well-known brands.
For the project you will need: a couple of kraft paper bags, transparent self-adhesive film, thick tape for pens (2 pcs. 30 cm each), optional magnetic fastener, scissors and a sewing machine.
Carefully "dissolve" the bag: glue the seams at the bottom, fold the bag in half and cut into two on the sides. Also, carefully remove the paper pens.
Align and trim the top and bottom of the paper rectangles. Dissolve the second craft bag in a similar way, but cut only on one side. Cut from it a long strip of paper 6 cm wide and a length equal to the sum of the lengths of the upper cuts of the halves of the future bag minus 1 cm.
Now all the details of the future shopper must be sealed with transparent self-adhesive film on both sides. To do this, cut off two sheets of film a little larger than necessary. For convenience, the bottom sheet of the film can be glued to the work surface with tape. Smoothing, glue the paper rectangles, aligning their lower cuts and leaving 1 mm between them. As a result, we get a single canvas.
Then we cover the future bag with a second layer of film and, ironing, fix it. Do not forget to paste over the tape (only on the front side) and the strip cut earlier. Cut off the excess film.
On a thin strip, bend one of the edges 1 cm to the wrong side. Fold the strip in half and, stepping back from the side cuts 1 cm for the seam allowance, we find the middle. We mark where the magnetic fastener will be and make holes for it in advance.
Find and mark the center on the upper cuts of the bag. We retreat from them 4.5 cm in each direction and make marks - the handles will be attached here. You can make symmetrical marks with scissors.
Now we fold the canvas facing inward. First, we lay the lines along the sides. Further, to form the bottom, unfold the side seams at the bottom, align them with the center line of the bottom and, stepping back from the bottom, draw a line by 5 cm to the right and left. We lay a seam on it, cut off the excess paper. We repeat the same with the other side.
Sew a long strip into the ring. We "grab" the handles with a seam along the very edge. We put a ring from a long strip inside the bag, face to face, aligning the seam with the side seam and directing the folded edge to the bottom. We lay a seam in a circle. We turn out the bag, bend the paper ring inward and put another line along the very edge of the bag to fix it. After that, we install the magnetic fastener and sew along the tucked edge of the ring.
