Shorts are comfortable clothes, especially in the hottest weather. If you haven’t had time to get yourself the “right” pair, here are some original ideas. Arm yourself with scissors, old jeans and hardware. The result will be a thing that will delight you for any season.
Short shorts with metal studs

You will need:
- Old jeans;
- stud rivets;
- sharp scissors;
- awl and special tools for fastening rivets

The best way is to use old shorts that are comfortable for you. For such a rework, your favorite jeans with a good fit, on which holes have appeared, are perfect. Cut off the pant legs, then use a screwdriver to run over the edge of the cut to create a ripped effect.

Add spikes and anchors. You can choose those that do not require a special tool for fastening - they have special brackets. Cool shorts are ready!

Freshen up old shorts with cool details
Sometimes, to create a thing of a completely new style, a couple of interesting details are enough. Add them around the pockets - this rework is very easy to do.

"Urban" shorts with cuffs
Not all shorts lovers prefer extremely short lengths. Fashionable shorts with cuffs are an option for those who prefer longer.

This project is perfect for reworking out-of-fashion jeans with ripped knees. If you do not have enough length to form a cuff, you can add it from the bottom of the leg.

Cut to the desired length. If the jeans are rather narrow, then you will most likely not be able to form the cuffs by simply rolling them up. Therefore, in addition to the desired length, add only 5 cm for the seam allowances.

We cut out the cuffs from the lower part of the legs, not forgetting about the seam allowances.

It remains to fasten the parts with pins and connect them with a seam.

Fasten the folds with blind stitches in the area of the side seams.

Original denim shorts with a "space" print
You will need:
- Shorts;
- bleach;
- spray bottle;
- Toothbrush;
- acrylic paints
Start by sprinkling your shorts with bleach. It will discolor some areas. If you want to brighten the stains, use a sponge soaked in bleach over the fabric. Once dry, you can add color accents.

Apply acrylic paint diluted in water to a toothbrush or thick brush. Then cover the shorts with a splash of color, pushing down on the pile and releasing.

Add sparkle
You can add glamor to regular shorts with glitter braid and textile glue. Just fill the pockets with tape.

Elegant notched shorts
Secure the edge of the shorts with pins and draw the outline of each prong. Follow the marked lines with a machine seam. An important point - the edges of the fabric should be zigzagged to prevent shedding.

Convenient bleach for tricky patterns on denim
If you want graphic shorts, your paint or bleach should be quite thick. Dissolve the starch in warm water and brew a rather thick paste. Add some chlorine bleach to it. Pass the gruel through a sieve. This composition is very convenient to work with stencils.

Cat style shorts
The author of the alteration decided to portray the hero of the famous meme - a disgruntled cat on his shorts. The ideal material for this is acrylic paints or paints for painting on fabric.
The bottom of the shorts was whitewashed. You can use white paint or bleach for this.

At the back from above, the fabric was darkened with spray paint. The contours of the eyes are painted in black on the pockets. White - the future nose is indicated.

In front of the cat's legs.

It remains to add details. The cat is already looking at you with displeasure!

Lace ombre shorts
Dye the shorts by covering some of them with a piece of paper. For the next coat, lift the sheet up and paint over the entire exposed area. This will create an ombre effect.

Graceful lace shorts
Fill the entire fabric with lace. It can be fastened with textile glue or a simple machine seam. It looks very impressive!

Bright tie-dye shorts
With the help of dyes on the fabric, you can create the most trendy colors of this season.

Gorgeous boho shorts
You can decorate the shorts with an original braid, woven by your own hands. The project will take a lot of time, but as a result you will get a really unique thing. Use textile glue to attach the tape.
