When the cold weather sets in, we all begin to warm ourselves. And the warmest clothes, tested by the same time, are, of course, a fur coat. A fur hat is supposed to be accompanied by a fur coat, just as warm and beautiful. And if in order to sew a fur coat on your own you still need a certain skill, anyone can handle a fur hat, even if he is a completely newbie. You don't even need a sewing machine to do this! In addition, a homemade fur hat is a great way to use an idle fur like a collar.
You will need:
- hat, which will become the basis;
- fur;
- sewing accessories
The first step is to prepare the material, namely the strips of fur. To do this, we free the fur from lining or other elements. We cut the fur into thin strips, about 3 cm wide. When cutting, the main thing is to take into account the direction of the pile. If the pieces of fur are too short, we sew several pieces together so that we get a strip of a suitable length.
When the fur strips are ready, we begin to sew them to the hat. To make the fur easier to sew on, moisten it with a little water using your hand or a spray bottle. This way, fluffy hairs can be smoothed in the opposite direction from the seam, and they will not interfere.
We sew the strips one after the other, and we do this only on one side, as in store hats. We sew with a regular stitch from the bottom. We sew the entire hat, let it dry and admire the result!
