Fancy and cute soft snowflakes are easy to make from yarn. In this case, knitting skills are absolutely not needed. Children can also be involved in the process of creating fluffy snowflakes. The task is so simple that it will not be difficult to cope with it.
To create a snowflake you will need:
- yarn of a suitable color
- a pair of cardboard rings
- scissors
- beads, rhinestones, other decorative elements
- strong thread to match and a needle
First, we decide on the size of the future snowflake. Having made cardboard templates, we combine them and wind them according to the same principle as for creating pompons. The number of layers will be less here. It directly depends on the desired density of the snowflake. For convenience, we first rewind the yarn into small balls. It is important that the glomerulus passes freely through the inner circle. You can replace cardboard templates with a regular book. Old CD discs will do as well, but then you will have to enlarge the inner hole.
Having typed the required thickness, we cut the threads along the outer edge of the circle and, slightly pushing the templates apart, pass the thread between them. Tighten and tie the thread tightly. We straighten the future rays and proceed to the formation of the snowflake. The task is to conditionally divide the yarn into 8 parts.
Having stepped back from the middle a few centimeters, we make jumpers from threads on each of the 8 parts. They can be both in the tone of the snowflake and contrasting. An alternative to thread winding can be silicone hair ties. The main thing is that the fixation is strong.
At the next stage, we divide each of the rays in half and fix it again with a jumper. Then it remains only to supplement the snowflake with decorative elements and fluff the tips.
Having mastered the technique, you can experiment with the number of rays, the size of the snowflake, and even set a more complex pattern by connecting the threads of neighboring rays to each other. The main thing is not to forget about symmetry. When decorating ready-made snowflakes, you can use not only a needle and thread, but also a glue gun.
You can use the rest of the thread, buttons, ribbons, beads. In any case, the result will please, and charismatic snowflakes will give you a lot of positive emotions.
Another easy project to create snowflakes from yarn. The template here is an ordinary circle with slots, and the winding methods are limited only by the flight of imagination. If you replace ordinary cardboard with foil or use transparent plastic to implement the idea, the result will be much more interesting.
