Roses are wonderful plants that can be a real garden decoration. If you want your planting stock of the most beautiful roses to be prepared in the spring, take care of the autumn cuttings of roses in the open field.
All parts of roses that were cut after flowering can become cuttings. The thickness of the handle should be about the same as the thickness of a pencil. The grafting process is best done in the middle - towards the end of autumn before frost.
First, cut off the branches of the rose. It is very important to properly prepare the cuttings: make an oblique cut at a distance of about 1 cm from the lower bud. For autumn cuttings of roses, it is optimal to use cuttings with a height of about 20 cm. At the same time, there should be 4-5 buds on the cuttings. Cut the upper part of the cutting at a right angle.
All leaves must be removed from the branches.
At the next stage, you will need the drug "Kornevin". Dissolve the pack of the drug in 200 ml of water. Place the prepared cuttings in the Kornevin solution with an oblique cut down.
After that, drop a few drops of wax on the upper cut, use an ordinary candle for this. The cuttings should stand in this solution for about 2 hours.
It is also important to pay attention to the preparation of the beds for planting cuttings. Dig up the soil and make grooves in it about 10 cm deep. The length of the grooves should match the length of the plastic box that will be used as shelter for the cuttings.
Place a small amount of sand at the bottom of each groove. The layer thickness should be approximately 1 cm.
After 2 hours, remove the cuttings from the Kornevin solution. Add water to the rest of the solution and use this liquid to water the soil in which the cuttings will be planted.
Place the cuttings in the moistened grooves at an angle of 45 degrees at a distance of about 5-7 cm from each other. After that, sprinkle the cuttings with earth. 2 buds should remain on the surface.
To cover the cuttings, use needles, a plastic box and lutrasil with a density of 60 g / mm2. Leave the cuttings in this state until spring.
With the onset of spring, cuttings must be cleared of needles. But it is still impossible to completely remove the shelter. The cuttings must be left under a layer of lutrasil so that they gradually get used to the new conditions.
If you do everything right, the cuttings will take root and you can decorate your garden with beautiful plants.
