Freestanding bathtubs are the squeak of interior fashion in recent years. They look luxurious, but the prices for such models are simply cosmic! Nevertheless, imagination, a little time and available materials will help you become the owner of a luxurious bathtub, which cannot be found in any store. All basic materials were ordered on the well-known Chinese site. Links are given below the video at the end of the article.

First you need to veneer the outer surface of the bath. For this, self-adhesive mosaic was used. Sheets 30 by 30 cm consist of small metal squares.

The substrate is very flexible, therefore, when glued to the convex parts of the bathtub, it bends easily, creating a very interesting effect.

When joining sheets, you need to make sure that the gap between them is the same as the distance between the rows of squares inside the sheets.

The commercially available bathroom legs are not suitable for standard models, so you will have to create them yourself. An inexpensive material suitable for this purpose can be the so-called air plasticine - a plastic mass that gradually solidifies in air. In order to get a gray color, you need to thoroughly mix white and black plasticine.

Immediately after opening the package, the mass will be very plastic. You can try to mold the legs from it yourself. However, making them exactly the same may not work. In this case, it is convenient to use a plastic bottle of a suitable shape and size.

You need to cut off the bottom and neck of the bottle, and also cut it in length.

To prevent the plastic from sticking to the mass, it must be kept in the open air for 20-30 minutes. Then the required amount is applied to the existing leg and crimped with a bottle. Surplus is cut off.

You can add decorative elements using silicone baking and sculpting dishes.

Details of the process, as well as links to the materials used, are in the video below.
