Each house has an archive of old tapes that have never been digitized. Unfortunately, film is not the most durable way to store photos. At the same time, to digitize it, it is not necessary to contact specialists, you can do everything yourself.
What is required
- developed film
- white cardboard
- paper knife
- matte paper or matte plastic
- four paper clips or a stapler
- table lamp
- digital camera
- tripod
- graphics editor
How to make

Make four 37 mm long notches on a piece of cardboard. The film will move through these holes. In the middle, make a 35x35 mm window for the frame.

Insert a piece of matte paper or plastic.

Fold the edges of the cardboard and secure with paper clips or a stapler.

Insert the film, leaving the selected frame in the window.

Mount the camera on a tripod and turn it vertically downward. Install a construction with a film under the lens. Place a lamp under it. Set the camera to macro shooting mode. Roll the film and take pictures of the selected shots.
When all the photos are taken and transferred to the computer, edit. It is considered using the example of Photoshop, but you can use any raster editor.

Crop the picture, removing all unnecessary ("Frame" tool).
Invert the colors: keyboard shortcut Ctrl + I.

Most likely, the picture will turn blue or yellow, to get rid of this, perform color correction. You can do this in Lab mode.

Then use the Curves tool to edit all three image channels to your liking.

Return the image to RGB mode and save the photo. Detailed instructions in the video below.
