You can come up with a huge number of things from the remnants of fabric, and each of them will become original, unusual, unique! What can you say about such an interesting idea of sewing rugs and coasters from patches folded into triangles and sewn together? The technique is not new, but over time it has been forgotten a little. We remember and keep the idea to ourselves!
Using a hot stand as an example, it is shown how a rug can be made using a similar technique, only there the triangles need to be folded obliquely. First, we cut the squares from the remnants of the fabric - you can play with color and ornament:
Then we fold, as shown in the photo below, and iron:
We get such a triangle from the fabric:
We take a dense fabric (denim is perfect), sew a double-sided circle. The final size and shape of the stand or rug depends on its size and shape.
Meanwhile, iron the rest of the triangles. The amount can be measured by eye by applying and measuring the shreds.
We start sewing: we pin the first layer of triangles to the base (to the edge), sew on a typewriter in a circle.
We repeat the same with the rest of the triangles. You can sew another piece of denim on top. Here is such a wonderful stand:
In the same technique, you can sew not only coasters, but also rugs:
