New street, new house - new dress! What if this were really possible? This is what Shamek Al-Bluwi, a renowned illustrator from Jordan, came up with. He is equally fond of fashion and architecture, and he had an idea how to combine seemingly incompatible things in his works! Before choosing a location, Al-Bluwi thinks about the subject he is depicting. “I start by examining the position of the model, and then, after sketching a suitable model, I add a garment design that takes into account the details that I could cut out,” explains Al-Bluwi.

Once he designs the dress and carves out the empty space, he looks for the right setting to bring the pattern to life. Here is what Shamek Al-Bluwi himself says about his work: “A busy background or a chaotic landscape versus a simple sketch. In fact, my eyes are always watching my surroundings and I try to notice interesting textures to add to my sketches. I have a lot of fun when I travel as I can photograph sketches while exploring new cities."
