  • 1.5 kg sugar
  • 2 lemons

  1. Place the prepared berries (washed, dried and without tails) in a deep bowl and cover with sugar. Leave it on for a few hours to let the strawberry juice.
  2. Place bowl on moderate heat and simmer after simmering for 5 minutes. Then add washed mint and basil leaves, cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Add finely chopped lemon pulp and pre-grated zest to the jam. Then cook the jam over low heat for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and leave for 8-10 hours.
  4. The second stage of cooking. Put the bowl on fire, cook for 5 minutes after boiling, then pour into sterilized jars and roll up.

Strawberry jam "Ruby"

  • 1 kg smaller strawberries
  • 200 g rose petals
  • 1.2 kg sugar
  • 100 ml of water
  • 0.5 tsp citric acid
  1. Place the prepared strawberries in a bowl and add half the sugar. Leave it overnight.
  2. Use the remaining sugar and water to make a syrup. Pour it over the washed rose petals, add citric acid and bring to a boil.
  3. Pour the berries into the boiled syrup and cook for 5 minutes over low heat. Then remove the dishes from the heat, let the jam cool completely.
  4. Bring to a boil again and cook for about 10 minutes. Pour the jam hot into the jars and seal.

Strawberry jam with spices

  • 2 kg strawberries
  • 2 kg of sugar
  • 2 star anise stars
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  1. Put the prepared berries in a basin (pan), cover with sugar, leave for 3 hours. After this time, put the strawberries on the fire, bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  2. Once the jam has cooled, return it to the heat and bring to a boil. Then add the spices and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the spices, hot pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal.

Strawberry jam with vodka

  • 3 kg strawberries
  • 2 kg of sugar
  • 100 ml of vodka
  • 1 tsp citric acid
  1. Put the prepared berries in a basin in layers, sprinkling with vodka and sprinkling with sugar, the top layer is sugar. Leave in the refrigerator overnight.
  2. Put the basin on fire, bring to a boil, add citric acid and remove from heat. After 3 hours, put on fire again and bring to a boil. Repeat the procedure 3 more times, and after the last boil, cook for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Place the jam in sterilized jars and roll up.

Strawberry Jam with Rhubarb and Ginger

  • 1 kg strawberries
  • 1 kg rhubarb stalks
  • 50 g fresh ginger root
  • 2 kg of sugar
  • 200 ml of water
  1. Peel the washed rhubarb stalks and chop finely. Add prepared strawberries, pour water in a deep bowl, put on fire and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes.
  2. Add the peeled whole ginger root, one third of the sugar, and cook for another 5 minutes with continuous stirring.
  3. Add the remaining sugar in small portions and cook for 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat, set aside for 8-10 hours.
  4. Second phase. Return the basin to the fire, let the jam boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat again for 10 hours. Remove the ginger root from the cooled jam. Place in sterilized jars, seal.

This is just a small part of the fireworks of flavors that can be created by supplementing the basic strawberry jam recipe with unusual additions. Strawberries go well with herbs, other berries and fruits, chocolate … Be creative and you will definitely find your unique taste of strawberry jam!
