Some call it the train of the 21st century, others call it the most luxurious railway transport in the world. This is not a copy of the Russian Swifts and Swallows in the Japanese style, and it is not an attempt to revive the Orient Express. No, the Japanese took a completely different path.

The Shiki-Shima train is more like a hotel on wheels, with only deluxe rooms. It will run between Ueno, Tokyo and Tohoku, Hokkaido stations, crossing the entire country. All train tickets are sold out a year in advance - people can't wait to personally try out what it feels like to travel in the most comfortable carriage in the world?

The train is quite large, but it carries only 34 passengers. They paid from 4.5 thousand to 10 thousand dollars for a ticket, which includes not only the trip, but also meals on the first category. The train travels along common lines, but according to a personal schedule, it makes only a few stops on the way from Tokyo to Hokkaido. The first trip took place on May 1 of this year, and the main purpose of launching such a train is to draw attention to Japanese railways, both from wealthy passengers and investors.
