The Japanese are unlike any other nation in the world. They are even called aliens. Well, it does not happen like this on Earth!
There are two things that set them apart from the rest of the world. They amaze everyone who arrives here.
But the main pillars of Japanese society are so simple and understandable to everyone. Only they don't work for us.
In general, Japan may surprise a lot. Robots in everyday life, funny attitude to sex, highways with funny speed limits, tenacity to live in paper houses. But this is what surprised me the most.
Confidence
They don't steal in Japan. At all. Even in Tokyo, people do not close their cars and often their apartments. And shops put goods on the street and do not follow them. Because they know: no one will take without paying.
Even if their hands are chopped off for stealing, the reason is different. It's just that society lives in such a way that this vice has been practically eradicated in it.
There are millions of bicycles in Tokyo. There are as many of them here as in Beijing, Brussels or Amsterdam. Let's talk about infrastructure, the paradox is different. In other cycling cities, they are often stolen despite their strong locks. Oh, not in Japan!
Nobody buckles in here big. They are simply left on the street and go about their business. I just couldn't believe my eyes!
Respect
Japan has an incredibly high culture of behavior in society. Because people in practice treat others the way they want to be treated themselves. For two thousand kilometers behind the wheel, I have not met a single asshole on the road. No one! Not a single person pushed in the line, no one showed irritation when I was "stupid" like a foreigner.
Just look at how they stand in line. Without instructions, corridors of ribbons - they themselves form straight lines and patiently wait for their turn.
This is how the Japanese are waiting for the subway train. There are special lines on the platform that indicate where the doors of the train will be. The line is perfectly flat. Nobody even thinks to cheat.
For some reason, nowhere on the planet I can imagine this. Although all of us from childhood are taught precisely these values.
