We accidentally got four pieces of old furniture in a deplorable state: a table, a chest of drawers, a wall clock and a travel chest.
My husband and I decided to try to give these things a new life. The table has been living in our country house for a year now. A chest of drawers joined him today. I propose to see how we brought a seriously ill chest of drawers back to life. Here are some photos of the dresser in its original form:

The duration of the work is indicated conditionally, since the dresser was occupied in fits and starts.
As with the work with the table, my men with the help of a grinder removed the remains of the coating from the surfaces of the chest of drawers and drawers, putty the defects and sanded them.

Replaced the back wall of the chest of drawers, the lower part.

At this stage, my work began. I painted the chest of drawers outside, and the drawers both outside (except for the bottom) and inside with acrylic paint in a pleasant milky color.

Then I cut out rectangles of the same size as the top of the chest of drawers and the inner part of the fronts of the drawers from the fabric with a very beautiful print in the form of peony flowers, which I used to decorate the table. I glued it with universal glue and let it dry.

After drying, it was repeatedly covered with matte varnish. This time nothing artificially aged.
Replaced the fittings with a new fitting style. And this is what happened as a result.

A chest of drawers with a table have now settled together in the same room. Here is a photo of this duo together in the interior.

That's it! Now next in line is the chest.
While it looks like this:
