Spring has come and my soul is asking for a holiday. And what a holiday if you're wearing boring black shoes?
Let's focus on a bright juicy color. After all, it is the color that affects us the most. I chose sky blue because I like it and, moreover, it goes well with my clothes.
Therefore, we buy paint and feel free to experiment! I will show you how easy and simple it is to transform inexpressive shoes into shoes for a great mood.
So, we have:
- ordinary black shoes, one pair
- sky-blue acrylic paint (I chose thicker paints, since liquid paints are not very convenient to use on smooth skin. Besides, if necessary, they can always be diluted with water);
- glossy varnish for fixing acrylic paints;
- a brush, a jar of water for rinsing the brush;
- alcohol or gasoline for surface degreasing;
- good spring mood and faith in your talent as an artist.
My shoes were made of two types of leather and, turning them in my hands, I decided to leave the heel black, and dye only the main part of the shoes without toes in a beautiful sky blue color. It goes well with black. If your shoes are monochromatic, then you can mark the staining line on the toe with a special pencil for leather.
Let's get started. We pre-clean the surface of the shoes from dust and dirt, degrease the surface with alcohol or gasoline.
Then we squeeze the blue paint onto the palette (I used smooth white cardboard for this). And paint over the shoe in one layer, as in the photo. Do not be alarmed that the first layer lays down unevenly. Then there will be a second.
The main thing here is accuracy, so as not to run in paint on the sole and paint over under the decoration elements. But even this is not scary - fresh paint can be easily removed with a damp clean brush.
Let's wait until the paint dries and apply the second layer with slightly diluted paint, so it will lie smoother.
The photo shows the difference in painting in one and two layers.
Gently paint over each shoe with a second layer. I already like and want to wear them - they are so pleasing with their color!
In some places, bald spots are still visible - we also paint over them with diluted paint. Acrylic dries quickly, but it would be good to wait one day before applying the protective varnish.
After the paint has completely dried, cover the shoes with protective varnish and wait until it dries. Try to apply the varnish in a thin layer so that there are no smudges. I used gloss varnish to keep the original shine of the leather.
And finally, spring life-affirming shoes are ready. Forward to adventure!
Now, as for the strength and durability - even at the stage of painting the second layer, I tried to scrape off the paint with my fingernail, but it didn't work, it was firmly embedded in the skin, and after the protective varnish, you can safely use this updated shoe. The softness of the shoes remained the same.
