Glass painting is a delicate and sophisticated way of decorating, previously available only to select professionals. However, modern advances in the field of synthetic resins and dyes now allow glass to be decorated by hobbyists as well. With the help of paints, using different techniques, it became possible to paint glass, mirrors, ceramics, metal and other similar materials.

In this master class we will show you how to create a chic do-it-yourself "Fish" panel based on Terry Zhiletsky.

Materials:

- working surface (glass);

- sketch 1: 1;

- stained glass paints;

- stained glass contours IDE two colors: No. 137 Gold Light, No. 151 Gold dark;

- alcohol or degreasing agent;

- solvent for cleaning the brush;

- brush, palette knife No. 45;

- crystal paste Maimeri 727;

- light paste Maimeri 731;

The sketch is made in a mirror image, that is, the front part of the panel will be smooth, and the working surface (paint, gels, contours) is hidden from the inside. We attach the sketch to the glass with tape around the perimeter and put it on a flat surface. The glass surface must be well degreased.

We start painting by drawing a contour. Apply slowly, making the line uniform in thickness.

The contours should close well, excluding places with breaks. This is necessary to prevent the paint from flowing onto each other.

This sketch uses two outline colors. Allow to dry well after application.

Let's get down to the color part. We apply paint to the closed relief areas. To make the drawing more realistic and richer, you can apply color stretch - from dark to light, or transitions from one color to another.

After the paint has dried well, apply a palette knife to some areas with Maimeri 727 crystal paste.

You need to apply a little, smoothing it over the surface so that the lenses fill the entire surface to be filled.

After the paste dries, the lenses will become more transparent.

Then we continue to fill in the rest of the color elements according to the sketch. After covering each pattern, allow time for the paint to dry.

Now apply light Maimeri 731 paste. It will help simulate water. We also apply with a palette knife in a chaotic manner, trying to put medium-sized strokes. It is not necessary to press too much against the surface, because it is important to leave relief "waves". With this technique, it is possible for the paste to hit the contour, but in our version this is permissible.

When the paste dries well (becomes transparent), you can apply the background color over it. Color transitions are also used here.

If the paint gets on the contour, then there is no need to despair, because we are drawing on the technical back side. From the front (seamy) side, everything will be perfect!

When all the paint has dried, you can remove the sketch (or it could have been removed even after drawing the outline). Since the panel will stand in a backlit niche, it is necessary to check that the entire surface is filled with paint (even small gaps). It is enough to raise it vertically and look at the clearance.

We turn the panel over to the front part. Now the panel is ready! Can be installed in a niche.
