Ah, these inventive Japanese people, ah, what are they doing! Their latest novelty can just drive you crazy! Kotatsu is an invention that will allow you to keep warm in the cold winter, and to be honest, it will not allow you to crawl out from under the blanket all day long!
A kotatsu consists of a blanket placed between a table top and the surface of a device that looks like a low table. And to top it all off, underneath this entire structure is a heat source that heats the entire body.
An incredible invention! Now the percentage of lazy Japanese people can skyrocket!
Isn't it a miracle to lie in bed, bask and enjoy life?

The idea of modern kotatsu originates from a traditional Japanese device known since the 14th century - irori (hearth). By the 17th century, this heat source began to be dug into the ground, covered with a grate for safety and also put a table with a blanket on top. This was called hori-gotatsu.
Modern kotatsu are mobile and not tied to a specific place, be it the floor or the bed
