Members of the UK's Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and 138,000 readers of its E&T magazine voted for the worst wiring designs around the world - finding some truly shocking examples.
More than 500 photographs of a truly heartbreaking posting were presented to the readers of the magazine, so that those, from the standpoint of experts in this field, choose 12 of them especially bad.
All of them are presented below.
The first place among the worst wiring was taken by this one - in an office building in Madras, India. Here, an electrical panel with bare wires was installed right on a wooden board with traces of a recent fire.

In second place was a hotel in the Maldives, the life of its guests is under serious and even double threat. After all, local electricians have placed two sockets next to the shower.
