Even ordinary New Year's meals can be magical. For example, potato-based dishes can be served in the form of fancy Christmas tree decorations. It is very simple to prepare, and there will be a lot of guests' delight!

The basis of such dishes is ordinary mashed potatoes, thick enough to form dense, stable balls. For strength, add a little mayonnaise (preferably homemade mayonnaise) or soft cheese like Philadelphia or Amber. To make the balls look festive, you can mix various colored ingredients in them - finely chopped bell peppers (yellow, green, red or orange), tomatoes, green onions and other greens, egg yolk, chopped olives and olives, boiled carrots - choose something- then to your taste. It is also good to add fried onions, it will give a pleasant taste, or fried mushrooms.
Another option is to mix potatoes with ready-made minced meat, form balls and roll in nut crumbs.
To make the balls perfect, it is worth taking thin cellophane culinary gloves.
You can decorate the appetizer with either a shrimp tail (you can hide it entirely inside) or make a ball cap from half an olive and make a loop from a green onion feather.
