Recipe
Ingredients:
- Butter - 100 g
- Honey - 250 g
- Granulated sugar - 125 g
- Ground coriander - 1 tsp
- Ground cloves - 1 tsp
- Ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- Fresh ginger - 3 cm
- Chicken egg - 1 pc.
- Salt - 0.3 tsp
- Cocoa powder - 10 g
- Wheat flour - 500 g
- Baking dough - 10 g
- Powdered sugar - 100 g
- Lemon juice - 40 ml
Preparation:
- Heat honey, butter and sugar over low heat until the latter is completely dissolved and remove from the stove.
- Sift the coriander, cloves (1 tsp each) through a sieve, finely chop the ginger (or grind in the same mill) and mix everything by adding cinnamon. In total, you should get 1 tbsp. l. spices.
- Add salt, cocoa and spices to the butter-honey mixture. When it cools down to a warm state, mix with an egg. Mix the flour with baking powder and gradually add to the gingerbread mixture.
- Knead not tough dough, roll it into a ball, wrap it in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for about 2-3 hours. The dough turns out to be quite liquid, but don't let that scare you.
- We heat the oven to 170 ° C. Next, roll out the dough 6 mm thick on a floured board.
- We cut out with a sharp mold little men, or your favorite molds.
- Lightly sprinkle a baking sheet with oil and put our gingerbread there. Put in the oven for about 10 minutes. It is important not to overexpose the gingerbread cookies, otherwise they burn instantly.
- The finished gingerbread should be firm, but soft on the inside. We shift to the wire rack, cool.
- Cooking the icing. In a bowl, mix the icing sugar and lemon juice. You need to mix gradually so that the glaze does not turn out to be too thin. For 100 g of powder, there are about 2 tbsp. l. liquids. By the way, you can mix powder with water or milk.
- We paint the gingerbread with icing as our heart desires.
If you wish, you can make a sweet garland out of them, just do not forget to make holes in the dough before baking.
